The sustainable development is a mode of economic development trying to reconcile the economic and social progress and the environmental protection, considering this last one as a heritage to be passed on in the future generations. The Sustainable Agricultural certification is one of activities of the Sustainable development. According to the slogans of the group Vitis Vintage, the Respect, the Quality and the Trust, the obtaining of this certification is only the outcome of the global management of the exploitation, to reconcile the environmental protection and the expectations of the consumers with the economic objectives of the producers.
The requirements of the reference table articulate around about ten themes:
_ Information and training;
_ Traceability;
_ Appropriate storage of fertilizers and effluents of breeding, so as to limit the direct pollutions in the environment;
- Balance of the fertilization: it is a question of bringing only doses necessary for the needs of plants, in the adapted dates;
_ Management of the waste produced on the property: sorting, elimination, participation in the specific collections;
_ Protection reasoned by the cultures: the reasoning of the interventions (by the preliminary meticulous observation of the sanitary state of the cultures), the choice justified treatments, storage and manipulation of products, in particular, have to allow to limit the risks for the man and for the environment;
_ Conservation of the grounds of the risks of pollution and erosion by adapted cultural practices;
_ Thrifty and well-balanced management of water resources;
_ Protection of the landscapes and the biological variety.
The Sustainable Agricultural certification has vocation to become the standard of the agriculture of tomorrow. It will contribute to the restoration of the degraded sites and to the preservation in good condition of the protected ones.
